By the Divine grace and blessings, Brahmasri Nannilam Rajagopala Ganapatigal was bestowed the prestigious "Bharatatma Puraskar" for excellence in Vedic education and Vedic service at national level . He has been recognized for this award in the "Ideal Vedic teacher (a) Adrasha Veda Adhyapaka " Category amongst such scholars and teachers aross India.

The award was presented in a grand function at New Delhi on the 5th Oct ,2017 by an esteemed panel consisting of Honourable CHief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri.Adityanath Yogi ji, the chief of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Shri Mohan Bhagwat ji and the Founder & President of Maharishi Vedvyas Pratishthan Shri.Govinda Dev Giri ji.

The Bharatatma award comes with a cash purse of INR 5 Lakhs, Certificate and a medallion. In the same function Brahmasri Krihsnan Ganapatigal (Son of Brahmasri Rajagopala Ganapatigal) was also recognized with a shawl for reaching the final stages of " Excellent Vedic Student (a) Utkrushta Vedic Student" competition.

The well organised function was graced by about 500 vedic pandits from across the nation along with many eminent personalities like Shri.Sudarshan Sarma ji ( former president of Tirupati Vedic University), Shri.Lakshmikanth Purohit ji from Bihar, Shri.Ganesa Srouthigal from Tirupati, Shri. Tatvamasi Dikshit, Shrimati Aparna Patil from Goa and many leaders across the country.
